Scripture Reference: Psalm 31:19 (NKJV)
Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust You in the presence of the sons of men!
Most things in life can be calculated and measured. Time itself is a measure of change. Our culture promotes the continuous desire to be in the “moment of knowing” – evaluating life by a rating scale. As I reflected on the year 2018 and the scope of condition the world is in, not much good seems to be measurable. I must confess that in my finite wisdom, I have tried to measure God’s goodness in the midst of chaos looking through a limited lens.
My husband loves photography, taking beautiful scenery photos. He has different types of camera lenses to capture the perfect shot with clarity from a short or far off distance. He can zoom in, bringing closer the object in view or he will use a wide lens to magnify and capture the entire surroundings. God taught me a meaningful lesson from watching photography in action which is beneficial for entering the New Year of 2019. If we only look through the world’s camera/telescope lens, our view and understanding of God’s goodness will be limited.
Let’s change our focus and look from Heaven’s view, God’s view of His Kingdom work on earth. So, this New Year, keep adjusting your spiritual lens – “click, click” – until you see God’s goodness in your life as well as others. He gave ALL His love for us in Christ Jesus, which cannot be measured. Our Heavenly Father “willed” favor, mercy, unmerited grace, peace, strength, joy, goodness, prosperity, wisdom, and knowledge wrapped in eternal life through Christ Jesus our Savior and Redeemer. We have it ALL because Christ gave His ALL. “Click, click.” Oh, MAGNIFY the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together (Psalm 34:3). “Click, click.”
Prayer Step of Faith: Ask the Lord to show you how to adjust and see from His heavenly view instead of earth’s view.
