Scripture Reference: John 1:1-17
I love the Christmas season with the beautiful decorations, heavenly music, wonderful holiday scents and yummy foods; and even more, celebrating with family and friends. This is the time of the year when we express unconditional love by reaching out to others who need to be reminded of God’s amazing love and grace. Just think about this for a moment, December is the last month in the year before beginning a new year in January. Is it possible that God wants us to end the year happy and in love? Putting those things behind that doesn’t fill us with the love of Christ, which He desires for us.
Christ coming into the world was the beginning of love and life to all that received Him. His birth brought new beginnings to the lost, hopeless and to the sick. Jesus Christ, our Savior, came with a purpose from the beginning because He was and still is the beginning of creation, love and life to us. He has called us to a higher purpose in life and equipped us with newness filled by the Holy Spirit in grace.
I personally love God’s grace because it is His mercy wrapped in His love in Christ Jesus and presented as a free gift with unconditional love. What do you want for Christmas this year? Is it something extraordinary or ordinary? Is it freedom and peace? Is it love or a fresh start in life? Only you and I can answer the question. God invites us to present our concerns, passions and dreams to Him trusting and having faith that He cares and will act on our behalf. Despite what life takes us through, Jesus leads us on a journey of new beginnings filled with love.
Open your heart, ears and eyes beyond your natural ability to see your new beginning that God has designed and reserved specifically for you. Shut the doors and close the windows to areas that have blown in turmoil. Let’s agree together that this Christmas and the new year will be extraordinary as we accept God’s eternal love and new beginnings in Christ Jesus. As His heirs and family, we are called to think higher and expect greatness for we serve a Great God who created Christmas out of love in Christ Jesus.
Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you for your grace to walk in my new beginnings in Christ Jesus not only during the holidays but also each and every day of my life. May my love for mankind be given intentionally and unconditionally as you show your love for me. Be glorified in my life as I share the real Christmas story. Amen!
