Ephesians 6:10-18
As I watched the movie War Room I was blessed as the characters practically applied God’s Word by reading, studying, praying, and doing the Word. The practical application translated into spiritual benefits as what seemed hard and impossible for man, proved possible in Christ Jesus. What victory!
As people come to our ministry to participate in the workshops or receive help through personal deliverance and inner healing sessions, we always give homework to assist them in developing awareness, appropriating the Word of God, and standing victoriously in Christ Jesus. In order to thrive as a Christian and maintain our deliverance, we must stay in the Word of God and appropriate it for our lives.
A portion of the homework that STDM gives is “The Whole Armor of God” worksheet. In Ephesians 6:10-20, you are instructed to “take up” the whole armor of God to be able to stand against the schemes/plans of the enemy and to be able to withstand in the evil day. Without the whole armor of God, you fall as you lose sight of who the enemy is and began to fight against flesh and blood (yourself, your deliverance, family, friends, what you see in church, etc.).
The pieces of the Armor of God includes the belt of truth to be girded around your waist; the breastplate of righteousness; preparing your feet to move forward to share the gospel of peace; the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy; the helmet of salvation (knowing that you know that you know you are saved); the sword of the Spirit – which is the Word of God; and praying always in the Spirit.
I want to encourage you to do your work to maintain your deliverance and inner healing. Some of the positive outcomes of appropriating God’s Word and putting on the Whole Armor of God as you walk in your deliverance and inner healing are: Getting free and staying free to run this race for Christ more effectively; Re-presenting Jesus in the earth; Being positioned to help strengthen and restore others (Galatians 6:1); Testifying about the power of Jesus’ Blood and the living Word in your life (Revelation 12:11); and Finishing the work God has for you to do (Luke 14:26-35), etc.
Prayer and Reflection: Father, in the Name of Jesus, I stand dressed in Your whole armor knowing that I have the victory in Christ Jesus. I take Your Word and apply it to my life as I stand with assurance of my salvation through Christ Jesus. I appropriate the power of the Cross and Your Word to my life and I receive deliverance, healings, and wholeness. I stand in Your Truth and declare VICTORY in my life! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
