2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing, that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, [….]”

In the above text, the Apostle Paul was addressing the people in Corinth who opposed God with high and lifted up thoughts and practices. Paul was determining that he was going to use the power of Holy Spirit to destroy their arguments and every proud opinion they raised against the knowledge of God. Paul’s goal was to bring the people’s thoughts and actions into submission to the Lord, Jesus Christ. He wanted to let them experience deliverance.

This is what Holy Spirit does for you in deliverance as you invite Him to come in and demolish anything in you that is not of Him. Your submission in deliverance allows God to deal with your worldviews, opinions, self-talk, old tapes, memories, experiences, destructive habits, doors you’ve left open to the enemy, any demonic forces, and anything that is not in proper alignment with Him.

So, the Lord has just delivered you from some things. You may be in the struggle, the battle to keep your deliverance, as you go through the process of living daily in your new found freedom. Your spirit, soul (mind, will, and emotions), and body are trying to catch up with and be in sync or alignment with the blessings of deliverance God just gave you. You’re waring to put the old behind and to grab hold of the new revelation of who you are and what God says about you. Yet, the old stuff keep creeping back into your thought processes and as a result some of things you’re doing look like the stuff you were doing before deliverance. I encourage you to stay in the process.

Staying in process means you’re going to continue daily to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, using the Word of God (Ephesians 4:23) until your thoughts and whole being come into obedience to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). This mind renewal process will enable you to distinguish between the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God versus the voice of the enemy (Romans 12:2); as well as to help you to meditate on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). As you are in process, GOOGLE “Who God Says I Am”, to get a list of Bible-based affirmations about who God says you are as you challenge the lies of the enemy with God’s truth. Read and meditate on the Word of God. Stay connected in fellowship with the Body of Christ, do not make yourself a target for the enemy by being alone “lone ranger syndrome” (Hebrews 10:24- 25). Get an accountability partner who loves you and who will stand with you, encourage you, and speak truth to you. Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). STAY IN PROCESS and before you know it, that issue will pass, the healing will fully manifest, and you’ll be ready to move on to the next thing God wants to change in you.

Prayer: Father in the Name of Jesus, thank You for deliverance and process. Thank You for strengthening me through the process and for helping me to realize that no one confessing Jesus Christ is exempt from the process. Thank you for choosing me and for teaching me how to take every thought captive and bring it into obedience of the Lord, Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
