It seems like city construction projects are ongoing in most major cities in the United States with one purpose, to improve public infrastructure; such as roads, highways, transportation, aviation and public owned buildings. Regardless of the necessity, the construction can be a nuisance and obstruction when we have to travel on the same streets. There are big yellow or orange flashing signs telling us “street is closed”, “detour”, “one lane open”, and “traffic jams”, making our day of planned activities hectic. No matter how unpleasant the experience is, we can’t avoid all of the inconvenient stings of road construction. We just have to allow the construction process to complete the work and keep moving.
In a similar way, life can be difficult to navigate, the burdens are becoming heavier prompting questions like: Where do I go or turn? When will my situation change? You are tired and feel like sitting down and giving up and cry out saying, “How long Lord?” Perhaps this is how Winston Churchill, Former Prime Minister of the UK, felt when he stated, “When you feel like you’re going through hell, keep walking.” I don’t know if Winston Churchill was a godly man when he made the statement, but we know what God said to Jeremiah, the Prophet, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls” (Jeremiah 6:16). The rest of this verse tells us that Israel responded by refusing to walk where the good way was. Let’s become people of God in Christ who willingly trust Him and walk where the good way is, which is in Christ Jesus – He is the Way, Truth and the Life (John 14:6).

Did you know that those who are in Christ Jesus are under construction by God Almighty? He is the Potter and we are the clay and we are being shaped into newness by His Hands (Isaiah 64:8).  The Apostle Paul writes “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).  We can’t rush the work of God in transforming our lives.  The Holy Spirit knows the condition of our heart and what we need, and what we can bear.

God has custom designed Grace to fit our lives.  Each person’s Christian journey is different. God gives His grace to fit every situation that we experience. There’s an old Gospel hymnal that the “seasoned saints” use to sing.  One of the verses says, “God specializes, and He will do what no other power can do.” Through the blood of Christ we are special to God, our Heavenly Father. When we surrender our hearts, mind and spirit totally to Christ whether in prayer or songs of worship, His Holy Spirit ignites our hearts like a burning fire. It’s like Heaven kissing earth as our hearts burst into joy.  In Christ Jesus, we are the hearts of Heaven on earth.  We are the redeemed of The Lord, He has made us the light of the world, the salt of the earth.  When we surrender to God’s good work in us, the whole earth will know we belong to Heaven our eternal home. Nothing can change the Goodness of God towards us or His blessings because we are positioned in Christ our Lord and Savior. This is exciting, rejoice in The Lord. Keep Godly movement in your life, keep walking in the good way.

Prayer:  Jesus, I thank you for keeping me in the Hands of God. I gladly surrender my whole being to You.  Thank you for giving me your truth and confidence that I am a work still in process until completion. I take a stand against anxiousness and weariness, and will trust you with all of me. I give you the Glory in Jesus Name.  Amen.
