Suggested Reading:  Psalm 46; 2 Corinthians 10:5; 2 Timothy 1:7

We seek inner healing and deliverance in order to be transformed into Christ-likeness.  The Holy Spirit on the inside of us compels us to renew our minds and to seek relief and freedom from sin and negative influences in our lives.  Jesus already died for us that we may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10b).  We need to take our issues to Jesus, confessing our sin, asking forgiveness, receiving forgiveness, healing, and restoration.

Psalm 46 reminds us that God is our refuge and our strength; a very present help in trouble.  Therefore, we will not fear when the earth is removed and the mountains are carried into the midst of the sea, waters are troubled, and things start shifting.  We are to not be afraid.

STDM Prayer Devotional this month encourages us to “Be Still and Know That I (HE) Is God”.  Being still, letting go, surrendering our stuff so that we can be in the will of God.  In Deliverance and Inner Healing Devotionals we have been dealing with coming out of hiding and the issues which lead us into hiding, and how we hide.  As the Lord begins to dismantle the lies, the walls/fortresses that we’ve built and the mountains that have had us blocked in, distorting our vision of who God made us to be, some of us may be feeling a little shaky or fearful as if the earth, the old foundation on which we stood, is shifting and being removed.  Praise God it is!  It is sometimes fearful to walk out of the old and into the new, the unknown, as the Lord gives us a new normal for our life in Christ Jesus.  As the Lord shifts us out of stagnation into productive intimacy with Him again, we realize that it may feel uncomfortable because we are being transformed into Christ-likeness and we have to rely on God’s way of dealing with life.

So how do we walk through the issues of life without going backwards?  We acknowledge where we are and ask God for His help as we still ourselves and know He is God.  We let go of the old and began to renew our minds using the Word of God, so we can walk out of agreement with every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5).  God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Reflection and Prayer:  Lord, help me to be still and release the issues in my life that have caused me to be stagnated,  I let them go and be still and know that you are God.  I place my trust in You.  In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
